ESRF and Aquaculture Partners organize Stakeholder Consultative Meeting.

    Toward increasing contribution of Aquaculture in National Growth Domestic Product (GDP), the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) jointly with the Ministry of Livestock & Fisheries- Department of Aquaculture, Aquaculture Association of Tanzania (AAT), Msingi East Africa and the Best – Dialogue convened National Aquaculture Stakeholder Consultative Meeting held at the ESRF Conference Hall

    The two day workshop intended to validate the National Aquaculture Scooping Report and the National Aquaculture Development Strategy (NADS) 2018 – 2015. In the first day the Aquaculture Association of Tanzania (AAT) presented results of the comprehensive aquaculture industry scoping study that aimed to engage with the Government and Development partners to support aquaculture development.

    In the second day of the workshop, the Government through- Ministry of Livestock & Fisheries- Department of Aquaculture will present Stakeholders the National Aquaculture Development Strategy (NADS) 2018 – 2015. The two presentations geared to support the growth and transformation of Aquaculture industry to increase its contribution to nutrition, incomes, employment and national economy.

    Discussions and resolutions from the workshop will assist in developing conducive environment that promotes competitive firms, investments and vibrant industry to stimulate growth and transformation of Aquaculture in the country. The resolutions will be forwarded to Government of Tanzania and the East African Community Secretariat for further action.
