Our government has also learnt that there are some alleged Tanzanian nationals in the UK who pose and continue to live as Somali refugees,” he said.
He said the British Government had proposed the repatriation of the alleged Somali refugees so that they could be screened here in Tanzania, but the latter requested that the screening be done in the UK.
The Government of Tanzania later despatched an official from the Immigration Department to the UK for identification exercise.
“The Government’s position is that if there are Tanzanian nationals pretending to be Somali refugees in the UK, they should not be expelled, but rather, returned home under normal procedures that respect human dignity,” Mapuri said.

Passport Corruption!
If one reads the above statement one wonders how did those “Somali refugees” easily obtain travel documents (Tanzanian passports)? Is the Tanzanian government directly or indirectly involved in this affair?
These so called Somali refugees are wide spread in Europe namely Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Nethrelands, Dennmark, Sweden, Norway, Greece, Turkey and Uk. You can even find them in Pakistan and USA.
Some of them are actually Somalis originating from Tanzania who moved to Refugee Camps in Kenya when there was a war in Somalia. Fortunately they had a refugee status and were helped by UN to reach Europe. However, majority of them have taken the war advantage and Tanzanian passports and travelled to Europe on invitations of other Tanzanians/Somalias/Burudians already living in Europe. A few of them are sons, daughters and relatives of MP’s or former MP’s, Ministers or former Ministers of the Tanzanian government.
Therefore I urge the Tanzanian government to accept that money from Britain and let those so-called “Somalis or Bajunis or Burundians” be retuned to Tanzania. Actually they will return to their respective homes e.g. at “Masiwani, Manzese, Buguruni, Mwakamba, Wundanyi, Kibosho, Machame etc”. By this way the government can receive money for reducing poverty in Tanzania or constructing roads and bridges.
Then we have to wait similar deals from the Swedish Government, Norwegian Government, Italian Government, The Netherlands, and the French Government etc. By this way we can finance most of our projects and get rid of poverty! Shall we call this “The Tanzanian way of Globalisation”
Last and but not least those Tanzanian immigration officials must have received a lot of corrupted money from those “Somali refugees”. These immigration officials should be put in front a firing squad or resign immediately!
