Call for Research on Urbanisation in Tanzania

The Urbanisation Laboratory is comprised of members from African Centre for Cities (ACC), World Resources Institute (WRI) (Ross Centre), Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) and Tanzanian Government. The laboratory forms part of New Climate Economy’s work on better urbanization through Coalition for Urban Transitions and is supported by Tanzania‘s National Planning Commission. Tanzania’s Urbanisation Laboratory is calling for three pieces of research work.

The first research seeks to document the potential access to finance for investing in infrastructure and services in 6 Tanzanian cities. The second research will document the relationship between national and local government in Tanzania in terms of decision making, fiscal policy and governance. The third call requests innovative research to improve the available information on “lived realities” in three Tanzanian cities. Short proposals are due by 22 September 2017.

Please feel free to circulate these calls within your network as appropriate.
