Name: Mr. Kennedy Mmasi
Title: FACILITY MANAGER, TANZANIA INVESTMENT GROWTH FACILITY (TIGF)
Kennedy Mmasi is the Facility Manager of the Tanzania Investment Growth Facility (TIGF), a joint initiative of the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) and UNDP Tanzania. In this role, he leads efforts to build a pipeline of bankable projects across priority sectors—including nature-resilient infrastructure, tourism, energy, and forestry—while mobilizing domestic and international capital to unlock sustainable growth opportunities for Tanzania.
Kennedy oversees project preparation support, investor convenings, and policy engagement with government institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, National Planning Commission, and sectoral authorities. Under his leadership, TIGF works to strengthen capacity for project bankability, foster public–private partnerships, and connect Tanzania’s development priorities with global impact investors, DFIs, and pension funds.
With over nine years of experience in sustainable finance and market development, Kennedy has previously worked with UNDP’s Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) in Geneva, as well as in corporate banking, treasury, and risk management roles across Africa, Europe, and the United States. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University and a master’s degree in International Finance and Trade from the Graduate Institute Geneva.
