
Amb. John Ulanga

Ambassador John Ulanga is a distinguished Tanzanian diplomat, corporate leader, and development expert with vast experience in governance, international relations, and economic development. He is recognized for his leadership in public service, civil society, and the private sector, both nationally and internationally.
He serves as the Ambassador and Director of International Trade and Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, leading the strategic development and implementation of Tanzania’s trade and economic diplomacy agenda.
Before his diplomatic appointment, Amb. Ulanga held prominent leadership roles, including serving as the Country Director for TradeMark East Africa in Tanzania, where he worked to improve trade facilitation and regional integration.
He also has a brief stint as the CEO of Tanzania Private Sector Foundation, an apex body for private sector in Tanzania, where he advocated for a conducive business environment and enhanced private sector participation in policy making.
