
Ms. Glory Nkya
Research Assistant
Glory Joseph Nkya is an economist with strong expertise in data analysis and applied economic research. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Statistics and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam, where her master’s research, titled “Crop Commercialization, Production Diversity and Food Security among Smallholder Farmers in Tanzania,” was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Onesmo Selejio. She has a solid background in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including survey data management, econometric analysis, and research reporting. Prior to joining the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), she served as a Part-Time Tutorial Assistant at the University of Dar es Salaam, supporting teaching and academic mentoring in economics-related courses.
At ESRF, she plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating research projects aimed at fostering social and economic development. She is currently involved in the project “Dignity at Work: Improving Employer–Worker Relations in the Informal Labor Market,” which seeks to improve the working conditions of domestic workers through dignity-based training. This project is implemented in collaboration with the University of Zurich, the Norwegian School of Economics, the University of California, Irvine, and CVM Tanzania.
